Alicia Woods is an accomplished Executive and Entrepreneur with 23 years of experience. Alicia is passionate about the mining and mobile equipment industry (diesel and battery electric). Passionate about innovating the mining sector through cutting-edge equipment designs, streamlined manufacturing, and fresh ideas on tackling diversity and inclusion. She is a strong and driven team leader with a proven track record of generating new business through strategic negotiation while valuing and nurturing an extensive network of clientele. Alicia is working toward increasing diversity in mining while engaging local communities to create a more socially responsible and sustainable industry.
Motivated to improve the underground mining experience for women, Alicia designed the first-ever covergalls for women and then successfully pitched her business on CBC’s Dragon’s Den in 2014. The Covergalls' workwear line has grown and become much more than a workwear company. Alicia was named to the 2017 Young Global Leaders class by the World Economic Forum and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining.

“I worked with Alicia Woods on the BHP Jansen Project for three years, from late 2020 to the end of 2022. Alicia performed an integral role in the Mining Production System team, managing the Engineering Services contract to modify the primary underground production system. When she began the role, there was limited oversight of the Vendor engineering effort. This was challenged by having to manage remote teams in Canada and Europe, and made even more challenging with the travel restrictions imposed by Covid. Alicia brought her extensive experience in underground mining equipment design and supply, and her ability to facilitate the efforts of diverse and multicultural teams, to this role. She worked collaboratively to implement the necessary controls and oversight to the vendor engineering effort, while maintaining a trusting and transparent relationship between the owner’s team and the vendor.”
Hourly Scope
